How Cosmetic Teeth Whitening Works

Cosmetic teeth whitening eliminates years of built up staining.

One of the first things people notice about someone is their smile. A white smile makes you appear healthier and younger, so you can smile at the world with confidence.

Our teeth whitening technicians are fully trained and experienced in cosmetic teeth whitening. They will guide you through the whole process. It involves sitting back and relaxing while the whitening gel is applied to your teeth. A professional medical grade accelerator light is then applied in order to speed up the results. This consists of 3 cycles for 15-20 minutes each. So you can have a brand new smile in 75 minutes.

The latest technology in teeth whitening is used. The beyond II is one of the best whitening machines in the world. Proven to whiten teeth better than old technology with no sensitivity or enamel damage. Not only does it use powerful LED lights, but also utilises ultrasonic technology to give a much quicker more effective result, without the sensitivity of other machines.

Why is it better than whitening your teeth at home?

Much quicker results - You can eliminate years of staining in one or two single sessions rather than whitening repeatedly over a long period, for you to get anyway near the same results.

Professional strength whitening gel - The whitening gel we use is medical grade and for professional use only, giving you the whitest results possible that are completely safe. They contain medical grade hydrogen peroxide instead of cheap food grade gels or less effective carbonate gels. There is no painful sensitivity during the procedure which is common with other systems in the market. The gel is completely safe and breaks down into water and oxygen.

Medical grade whitening machine - The powerful Beyond II machine has a high light output using LED and Ultrasonic technology. This uses high frequency sound waves inaudible to the ear to help loosen staining for faster whiter results than any other type of light. Some cheaper lights on the market are no more effective than shining a torch into your mouth. It will not only remove surface stains, but stains found deep in the teeth.

    How long does it last

Your new white smile should last 6-12 months. This varies due to individuals diet and lifestyle habits. We recommend coming in for a 2-3 month top up treatment after your first whitening session. Top ups are 2x 15-20 minute cycles.

Is there anyone the treatment is not suitable for?

Teeth whitening is not suitable for anyone pregnant or breast feeding.

Teeth Whitening is for those with healthy teeth and gums. We suggest keeping up with yearly dental visits to check for any periodontal disease, gingivitis etc. If you would like to see a dentist for a professional clean first then you must wait at least 14 days before whitening your teeth.

I have veneers or crowns, will it work?

Artificial caps, crowns or veneers whiten differently. Whitening will remove stains to get them back to the original colour they were installed at. This is often of a lesser colour change than natural teeth, however veneers and caps can still stain.

Depending on the current colour compared to your natural teeth, whitening can either make them appear mismatched or can help match the colour. If your unsure, send us a photo.

If you are getting any cosmetic restorative work done on your teeth, whitening can be done a few weeks before.

How do I maintain my new white smile?

You must follow a white diet for 24 hours post whitening. For example: chicken, white bread, milk, yoghurt etc. Definitely no tea, coffee, red wine or tobacco use.

It is also recommended to brush and floss twice daily, and limit intake of staining foods and drinks.

We also sell dental grade whitening tooth paste and whitening top up pens. These are great to use between professional treatments.

After your initial treatment, a 2-3 month top is recommended. After that, we suggest a top up every 6 months - 2 years depending on your level of staining.

    What is the Cost?

You can now get a new white smile at an affordable price. Teeth whitening at a dentist can cost anywhere from $300-$600. Teeth whitening is a cosmetic procedure so there is no need for a dentist to do your treatment. Our prices are much less than this.
